Houston Physician's Hospital’s Orthopedic Center of Excellence

We believe the key to better outcomes is an unwavering commitment to superior education. Promoting transparency and knowing exactly what to expect each step of the way helps reduce stress and anxiety while preparing you for a smooth recovery. The Orthopedic Center of Excellence at Houston Physicians’ Hospital focuses on patient care and clinical outcomes. Once complete, many patients recommend us to their friends and family due to the result and experience from their stay. Houston Physicians’ Hospital is proud to offer a unique program that encourages the recovery and discharge of patients from the hospital in one to three days after surgery. Our program was designed by surgeons in collaboration with our specially trained staff and input from patients. We strive to enable our patients to be able to walk as early as the same day as their hip or knee surgery and resume normal activity in six to 12 weeks.

Types of Joint Pain

Joint pain can arise in many forms, but the most common types of joint pain include:

  • Hip pain
  • Knee pain

Symptoms of joint problems include:

  • Pain or stiffness in the muscles surrounding a joint
  • Difficulty moving joints
  • Swelling of the area around the joint
  • Sharp pain
  • Pain that becomes worse after certain activities

Joint pain can be mild and easily treated at home. However, if your joint pain does not respond to at-home treatments and interferes with your daily life, it may be time to seek treatment by a medical professional.
